Dr. Jason Smithberger graduated cum laude from Ohio State University in 2002. He then completed an optional intensive year of study in a Graduate Practice Residency program at Ohio State University Hospital.Dr. Smithberger has since continued to emphasize continuing education and has studied with some of the leading dentists in the country, including Frank Spear, Pete Dawson and Mark Piper. He regularly attends study groups with other dentists to constantly improve his quality of care.
Dr. Smithberger is a member of The Spear Faculty Club, ADA, MSDA, American Equilibration Society, and the American Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine. He continues his education through the Spear Study Club and Piper McKee TMD Study Club.
Dr. Smithberger is certified in invisalign orthodontics, which uses a series of clear aligners to move teeth. In addition he is able to reshape biting surfaces that may interfere with proper bite and joint relationships through a process called occlusal equilibration. This process can eliminate problems such as Temporalmandibular joint dysfunction (TMD), headaches, severe tooth wear, loose teeth, and gum recession. For every dental procedure, Dr. Smithberger uses dental loupes and a xeon light which magnifies and allows better precision. We scan for Invisalign, and crown & bridge with Itero Scanner. Our office also uses a Conebeam CT Machine.
Dr. Smithberger and his wife, Andrea, have five children; Lauren, John, Lucy, Joseph, and Lily. He is an active member of the Knights of Columbus and enjoys spending time with his family and golfing. He also donates his time helping with the following organization's: Mission of Mercy, World Vision Child Ambassador Team, Knights of Columbus, Maryland Foundation of Dentistry for the Handicap.
